Back2School Intervention

The Back2School Intervention is a holistic program that works to combat child marriage and provide underprivileged girls access to quality Education.

We do this in 3 Strategic Ways:

1. Through our scholarship scheme, we provide tuition, uniforms, books, transportation and other essential school supplies so that girls can learn effectively without disruption.

2. Through our Family Negotiation Program, we engage families one-on-one, telling them about the need to educate their daughters and shun child marriage. Additionally, we work with faith-based leaders to retrieve girls from child marriages, facilitate the return of their brideprices and reintegrate them into school.

3. Through our community sensitization, advocacy and awareness programs, we carry out townhall meetings where we use storytelling to engage local chiefs, cabinet members and interest groups on the need to create bylaws that support girls education and shun child marriage.

Our impact through the Back2School Intervention has been transformative. Firstly, we have provided scholarships for over 6,000 underprivileged girls including former child brides, reversed more than 100 child marriages and reintegrated over 2,000 former child brides into school.
